Describe your Hub Box journey?
I began working in Pentewan as a member of the Front of House team – mostly on the bar (hence my nickname Barlos!) As the summer season settled down and the winter crept in, I moved from Pentewan to Truro and became a member of the team there. The following year, I jumped right back in at Pentewan, but this time as their Restaurant Manager.
Another winter in Truro went by, followed by another summer in Pentewan, but had progressed further, this time as the General Manager.
After two amazing and challenging seasons as Pentewan’s GM, I was then promoted to Senior GM and now… the Ops Manager for the South West! It just shows that hard work and determination really does pay off, and Hub Box knows how to reward those that showcase both of these attributes.
What is the best part of your job & your favourite memory?
The best part of my job has to be, and continues to be, the interaction with both customers and team members on a daily basis. I love being able to create great and memorable experiences for our customers, as well as with a bunch of people I can call friends.
My favourite memory is definitely the hustle and bustle of the summer months in Pentewan, working alongside an amazing team and achieving the best experience for everyone that visits Hub Box.
What is your favourite Hub Box burger (sides & all)?!
The Dirty Disco burger, with chicken strips and chipotle mayo on the side!
If you could smash a burger with anyone in the world, who would it be & why?
With my family, especially my gorgeous wife and amazing kids. They have been my support system throughout my journey with Hub Box and are my number one fans. Outside of Hub Box, I love to spend as much time as I can with them… even if it does mean popping back in for a burger or two!
