Over the years, we’ve played around with variations of our menu. We went a little off the beaten track, we hold our hands up to that. We thought we knew what you wanted. But it turns out you want it like the good old days – just like us! We’re back in our lane, focusing on burgers. The best in the South West.
Recently we’ve had some dodgy press, but don’t let that fool you. We’re not bothered by it because we’ve been working hard, wrestling away behind the scenes on a new menu. A menu that we’re so proud of. It’s full of flavour, new and old. We’ve levelled up some Hub Box classics, bought back some oldies and we’ve been inspired by the history of the hamburger with the new kids on the block, like the Oklahoma.
Our Executive Chef Olly has been tweaking the menu, working alongside Hub Box founder Richard to get it to where it is now.
Olly’s story is quite interesting – he’s been with us a long time really. Starting off behind the bar in our container in Truro and then our restaurant way back in 2014. Eventually, he decided to switch things up and get in the kitchen when our Bristol site opened back in the summer of 2017.
Olly quickly proved he was more than capable on the grill and was promoted to Head Chef in no time. After a few years helping us with new openings and cooking up a storm, he decided to spread his wings and left to work at the Michelin star restaurant Paco Tapas in Bristol. He grew in knowledge there, expanding on his experience cooking over fire, with sensational ingredients. Fast forward a few years and he’s back at Hub Box honing in on his knowledge and at the helm of our menu development. We’re chuffed to have him back and a little smug!
You can expect smashed burgers with enormous flavour, fried chicken with a crunch and shit hot fries. Be prepared to want to lick the tray clean when you’re done.
